The percent error is basically the fractional deviation from the accepted value.

The percent error is the absolute difference between the measured/approximate and accepted/exact values, relative to the exact value:

\mathbf(% "Error" = |"Approximate" - "Exact"|/("Exact")xx100%)

= |82 - 80|/(80)xx100%

= color(blue)(2.5%)

So the percent error is 2.5%.
