"y-intercept "->(x,y)=(0,-5)

Slope is 1

Explanation:

Write as:" "x-5=y

Turn it round and we have the same thing

y=x-5

Compare to y=mx+c

where m is the gradient. It is known that 1xxx=x so the gradient m must be 1.

The slope is 1. This means that for every 1 along left to right the graph goes up 1.

The y intercept is at x=0 so

y=x-5" becomes "y=0-5

So the y intercept is at y=-5

To write this properly you would present it as

"y-intercept "->(x,y)=(0,-5)
