the equation of a line passing through 2 points $(x_1,y_1),(x_2,y_2)$ is given as:

$y-y_1=m(x-x_1)$

$and m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)$ called the slope of the line

therefore putting the given points in the above equation we end up getting:
$m=(2+4)/(-5+2)= -2$

$y+4=-2(x+2)$

$2x+y+8=0$
