the equation of a line passing through 2 points (x_1,y_1),(x_2,y_2) is given as:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

and m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) called the slope of the line

therefore putting the given points in the above equation we end up getting:
m=(2+4)/(-5+2)= -2

y+4=-2(x+2)

2x+y+8=0
