Well, we want the equation in terms of y first so we can do that by subtracting both sides by x

y+xcolor(red)(-x)=0color(red)(-x)

y=-x

This is simply a line that crosses the origin and is decreasing.

If we recall, y=mx+b, m is the slope of the line which is the coefficient (or number) in front of the variable.

From our equation, the slope, m is -1

Note: -x is the same as saying -1x
