This is the combustion reaction for octane, $C_{8} H_{18}$ $C_8H_18$ ., a volatile and very flammable alkane that is a component of gasoline.

The balanced chemical reaction is

$2 C_{8} H_{18} + 25 O_{2} \to 16 C O_{2} + 18 H_{2} O$ $2C_8H_18 + 25O_2 -> 16CO_2 + 18H_2O$
