What kind of natural disasters have been caused by global warming?
1 Answer
Global climate change accelerates frequency of serious storms
Explanation:
Warming ocean waters (I found a 2 degrees Celcius water temperature increase at Dardanelles (Turkey) between 1987 and 2008) could feed more energy into high-magnitude storms, resulting a remarkable increase in their frequency. Approximately one half of total human population live in coastal areas. They are under cyclone and hurricane threat.
Global climate change due to greenhouse effect is expected to cause wetter winter seasons, hotter but drier summer seasons, an increase frequency of large storms, and an increased possibility of droughts in the northern temperate latitudes (Botkin and Keller, 2003).
