Explanation:

Compounds are molecules with different elements bonded together with each other through chemical bonds. All of our universe is made with compounds. Elemental gases like hydrogen (H_2) and oxygen (O_2) are not considered to be compounds as they are only made of one element. However, molecules like water (H_2O) and sucrose (C_12H_22O_11) are compounds because they have two or more different elements combined with each other.
