a few things

Explanation:

A few things can shield people or objects from beta particles. For solid materials, beta particles are shielded by aluminum, plastic, wood, and glass. Heavy clothing can stop beta particles. For liquids, 2" of water can shield beta particles. For gases, about 10 feet of air can stop beta particles. Although not as high in energy compared to gamma radiation/particles, beta particles can cause skin burns.
