y + 2 = -1/2 (x-7)

Let's get this into point-slope form, y = mx + b

y + 2 = -1/2x + 7/2

y = -1/2x + 7/2 - 2

y = -1/2x + 7/2 + 4/2

y = color(red)(-1/2)x + color(green)(11/2)

This tells us that the color(red)(slope) is color(red)(-1/2) and the color(green)(y-i n tercept is color(green)(11/2, meaning (0, 11/2)

We can check this using a graph

graph{y = -1/2x + 11/2}
