Without decomposers, life cannot exist. Producers produce oxygen and food (to consumers) and they need organic and inorganic materials, water, air, carbon dioxide, etc. All organic (or decomposed) materials are produced by decomposers. So this is a two way relationship: decomposers get their food from producers (wastes, dead bodies, etc.) (as well as consumers) and producers get organic materials they need after decomposition.
