Because if you breathe it, drink it, eat it, smoke it, drive it, it's chemistry.
Explanation:
We get up of a morning, and have a wash in water; this is chemistry. We use soap to clean ourselves; again an application of chemistry. We consume sugars (carbohydrates); this is combusted with inhaled oxygen gas to give energy to our metabolism; the oxidation products, carbon dioxide and water, are exhaled. Of course we breathe oxygen all the time to provide energy for our bodily function. When we drive a motor, we use hydrocarbon fuels to provide energy; the combustion products are again carbon dioxide and water. There are many more examples.
