Why do cells break down sugars?

Cause breakdown of sugars which Is commonly or mostly glucose, which produces CO2,H2OandO2 and energy. This energy is utilized by the cell for carrying out it's metabolism.

Explanation:

We all know that combustion produces carbon dioxide, water ,oxygen and energy . This can be seen very commonly when you burn something. Using this mechanism cell conbusts sugars for getting the energy required by them.
