Equation is already in y=mx+b format. Just graph using the slope and y-intercept.

Explanation:

So the equation (y=9/4x-4) is already in y=mx+b format.
=> Where 9/4 is the slope, m.
=> Where -4 is the y-intercept, b.

All we have to do is graph it.

graph{9/4x-4 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

I think what you have difficulty with, is the slope. You can use the "rise"/"run" method to graph the slope.

Basically, all numerators are "rise", and all denominators are "run". So in this case, starting at (0, -4), move up 9 points, then right 4 points, giving us (4, 5).

You also do the opposite: starting at (0, -4), move down 9 points, then left 4 points, giving us (-4, -13).

Connect them with a straight line and BAM!

Hope this helps :)
