We know from fyziks that $speed = wavelength \times frequency$ $"speed"="wavelength"xx"frequency"$ .

Or $c_{the speed of lite} = λ_{wavelength} \times ν_{frequency}$ $c_"the speed of lite"=lambda_"wavelength"xxnu_"frequency"$

And thus $ν = \frac{c}{λ}$ $nu=c/lambda$ ...the which quotient has units of...

$\frac{m s^{- 1}}{m} = s^{- 1}$ $(ms^-1)/m=s^-1$ ...i.e. units of frequency....
