Polar coordinates (2,π) in rectangular coordinates are (2,0)

Explanation:

Normally r in polar coordinates (r,θ) are positive, but many times r is allowed and is taken in opposite direction to that indicated byθ i.e. θ+π.

Further, polar coordinates (r,θ) in rectangular coordinates are (rcosθ,rsinθ)

Hence polar coordinates (2,π) in rectangular coordinates are

(2cosπ,2sinπ) or (2×(1),2×0) i.e. (2,0)
