For a multiplication to be $= 0$ $=0$ either one of the factors needs to be $= 0$ $=0$

So either $x + 2 = 0 \to x = - 2$ $x+2=0->x=-2$
Or $x - 6 = 0 \to x = 6$ $x-6=0->x=6$
