The detail for this is way over the top but I wanted to demonstrate several principles.

Explanation:

Note that 3 4/10 is the same as 3+4/10

Applying this principle and grouping the numbers we have:

3+5+[4/10+2/10+6/10]

8+[12/10]

8+[10/10+2/10]

But 10/10=1

8+1+2/10

9+2/10" "->" "9+[(2-:2)/(10-:2)]

9+1/5 = 9 1/5
