If (a + bi) and (c + di) represent 2 complex numbers then
a + bi + c + di =( a + c )+ (b+d)i
and a + bi - (c+ di) = (a-c) + ( b - d)i
hence 4 - 8i - 13 + 23i = - 9 + 15i
