You may take the $log_e$ or $ln$ on both sides.

$lne^3=ln20.08$

Since any power may be placed before the log-function as a multiplication, we get:
$3lne=ln20.08$

And since $lne=1$ :
$3=ln20.08$

Which checks out on my calculator (with a bit of rounding, actually $e^3=20.0855...$ so $20.09$ would have been a better number.
