How does capacitance affect impedance?

Impedence (only in alternating current circuits) strictly depends on the resistance, inductive reactance (of inductive sources) and capacitative reactance (of capacitative sources).

Now, Capacitative reactance XC=1ωC
Where omega is the angular frequency of the source and C is the capacitance.

Also, impedence, Z=(R2+(XC+XL)2)12

Where XL is the inductive reactance. and R is the resistance.

Thus on increasing capacitance, the capacitative reactance decreases and thus the impedence also decreases.
