P = V^2/R

Explanation:

Ohm's Law states that V = IR, and P = VI.
So, P = I^2*R *and* P = V^2/R
Calculate the circuit current from the first equation, and then calculate the power from the second equation.
I = V/R ; P = V*V/R or P = V^2/R
