Explanation:
It consists of adenine, ribose (a sugar) and three phosphate groups. It can be released of its energy by breaking the phosphate bond, in a 1 step hydrolysis, therefore, it is a quick source of energy. Also, it is soluble so it can be transported easily around the body, to wherever it is needed. The inorganic phosphate can be used to reduce the activation energy of phosphorylate, so it allows reactions to occur with less energy.
