Angiosperms (flowering plants) are seed bearing vascular plants that include the majority of plants on earth.

Angiosperms are the most diverse group of land plants and are distinguished from the gymnosperms as they produce flowers, endosperm within the seeds and fruits contaning seeds.
The characteristic feature of the angiosperm is the flower. The flower bearing portion of the plant is sharply distinguished from the vegetative portion and forms a branch system called as inflorescence. They also generate gametes by the process of meiosis, which takes place in the ovule.
Tissue complexity in flowering plants is very high. The vascular bundles of the stem consist of xylem and phloem arranged in concentric rings.
Agriculture is almost entirely dependant on angiosperms. Most of the plant based foods and a significant amount of livestock feed comes from angiosperms. They also provide economic resources in the form of wood, paper, fibres, medicines, etc.
