The final temperature would be 317°C

Explanation:

This is explained by Charles' Law. The volume of a gas is directly proportional to the Kelvin temperature of the gas. In order to double the volume (as is seen here) we must double the Kelvin temperature.

In equation form, Charles' Law can be expressed as:

#(V_2)/(T_2) = (V_1)/(T_1)#

Hence:

#T_2 = ((V_2)*(T_1))/(V_1) = ((70)*(295))/(35) = 590 K#

where you note the Celsius temperatures are converted to Kelvin by adding 273 to each.

#590 K = 590 - 273 = 317 °C#
