A soda bottle is flexible enough that the volume of the bottle can change even without opening it. If you have an empty soda bottle (volume of 2 L) at room temperature (25°C), what will the new volume be if you put it in your freezer (-4°C)?

The new volume will be 2 L.

This is an example of a Charles' Law problem. See

http://socratic.org/questions/what-is-charles-law

In your problem,

V1 = 2 L; T1 = (25 + 273.15) K = 298 K
V2 = ?; T2 = (-4 + 273.15) K = 269 K

V1T1=V2T2

V2=V1×T2T1 = 2 L × 269K298K = 2 L

Note: The answer can have only one significant figure, because that is all you gave for the volume of the empty bottle. If you need more precision, you will have to recalculate.
