$-x+4y=-2$ is not a direct variation.

One of the (but not the only) characteristics of a direct variation equation is that $(x,y)=(0,0)$ will always be a valid solution.

$(0,0)$ is not a valid solution for $-x+4y=-2$

Does the equation -x + 4y = -2-x + 4y = -2 represent a direct variation and if so, identify the constant of variation?
