You first convert, so that the $10$ -powers are equal.

$1.4xx10^5=1.4xx10xx10^4=14xx10^4$

And then:
$=(14xx10^4)-(6.2xx10^4)=(14-6.2)xx10^4=7.8xx10^4$

If significance is important this should be rounded to $8xx10^4$
