Recall the graph of the parent function, y=cosx.

Since y=cosx, reflect the graph over the x-axis.

graph{-cos(x) [-7.9, 7.9, -3.95, 3.95]}

Now, shift the graph up by 1 unit since the full equation is y=cosx+1.
