Apply the BIDMAS rule and first work out the brackets.

(The BIDMAS rule being: B rackets, I ndicies, D ivision,
M ultiplication, A ddition, S ubtraction)

$(0.24xx5)=1.2$
$(0.66xx5)=3.3$

It then becomes:

$36-9-:[1.2+3.3]$
$36-9-:4.5$

Apply the BIDMAS rule and do the division next and then the subtraction last.

$9-:4.5=2$
$36-2=34$
