It is not a direct variation equation.

Direct variation equations have the form

$y = m x$ $y = mx$ ,

where $m$ $m$ is the constant of variation. The equation

$y = - 2 x + 1$ $y = -2x + 1$

cannot be written in such a form.

Is 1−y=2x 1 - y = 2x a direct variation equation and if so, what is the constant of variation?
