If an equation can be expressed as
$y = m \cdot x$ $y=m*x$ for some constant $m$ $m$ then it is a direct variation

$3 y = \frac{1}{3} x$ $3y = 1/3x$
can be expressed as
$y = (\frac{1}{9}) x$ $y = (1/9) x$
and is therefore a direct variation.

When $x = 4$ $x=4$
$y = (\frac{1}{9}) (4) = \frac{4}{9}$ $y = (1/9)(4) = 4/9$

Is 3y=13x3y=1/3x a direct variation, then if so, how do you find y when x=4?
