How do you graph the equation y=x?

y=x is an equation. And just like any equation, if we set x equal to something, we can solve for y.

Let's se x=0. That means y=0. So our first coordinate pair is (0,0).

Now let's use a different number, say, 10. x=10, so y=10. Thus, the coordinate is (10, 10).

I'm noticing a pattern here. x and y have the same value. If we graph the equation, it should be an even, positive line. We know it passes through (0, 0), and then we can make the slope 1.
